Arkansas played bookends to a Kentucky winning streak.

When Wednesday’s game began, the third-ranked Razorbacks had been the last visitor to win at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., on Jan. 25, 1992. When it ended, Arkansas, 17-2 and 7-2 in the Southeastern Conference, had closed the winning streak at 33, defeating the fourth-ranked Wildcats, 90-82.

Scotty Thurman finished with 26 points and Corliss Williamson added 21 for Arkansas in a game that had Kentucky Coach Rick Pitino both hospitable and ill.

“My congratulations go to Arkansas,” Pitino said. “They’ve done this to us twice in a row. They’ve been the superior basketball team twice in a row.”
