The Responsible Driver Course Home Study Edition for people age 55 and over with good driving records is available from the Department of Motor Vehicles in Sacramento.

By reading the illustrated study book and completing a quiz, drivers may receive the DMV California Mature Driver Improvement Certificate. The certificate can be submitted to your insurance company for a 5% or larger auto insurance discount good for three years. Individuals should check with their insurance carrier to determine eligibility and discount amount.
