Maria St. Just; Friend and Biographer of Tennessee Williams

Maria St. Just, an actress, and friend and co-executor of the estate of playwright Tennessee Williams. As a girl she studied at the Old Vic in London, joined Sir John Gielgud’s company and met Williams at a party just before the troupe embarked on a tour. They remained lifelong friends. In 1990 she published “Five O’Clock Angel: Letters of Tennessee Williams to Maria St. Just, 1948-1982.” She was believed to be in her late 60s or early 70s when she died in London on Tuesday of heart failure.
