Iwerks to Acquire Omni Films: The company said it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Omni Films International Inc. for about $34 million in cash and shares. “The acquisition of Omni Films establishes Iwerks’ Attractions and Technologies Division as the single dominant company in the high-growth ride simulation industry,” said Stanley B. Kinsey, Iwerks Entertainment Inc. chairman and chief executive, in a news release. Burbank-based Iwerks said Omni’s products are less costly to build than Iwerks’ products and that they sell especially well in Asia.
