A a play based on the comic strip “Li’l Abner” was canceled at a high school in New Hampshire after several female students complained it was sexist.

“We do not want to be on stage exploited, demeaned and degraded,” said student Robin Bartlett. Bartlett said students were uneasy about dialogue that included:

* Daisy Mae singing: “My aim in life is to be a good wife.”

* Earthquake Magoon saying to another man: “What’s your pleasure? But I see you’ve already brought it (a woman) with you.”
