OC HIGH: STUDENT NEWS & VIEWS : Casting Call
High school students of Hispanic descent are invited to participate in a play commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 80-foot-long MEChA Mural at Nealley Library at Rancho Santiago Community College’s Santa Ana campus. (A portion of the mural is pictured above.)
Rancho Santiago graduate Louie Olivos Jr. wrote the play about the mural and its creation two decades ago. The play will be performed during Cinco de Mayo festivities at the college. The Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Atzlan is a student organization that focuses on Chicano culture and history.
Students interested in being in the play should call Olivos at (714) 543-5598. Rehearsals will be Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
