Leighton Noble; Big Band Leader and Host of Television Show

Leighton Noble, 82, a big band leader who had his own television show. Noble and his orchestra played the posh hotel circuit from the Waldorf in New York to the Ambassador’s Cocoanut Grove in Los Angeles. He was host of his show on television station KTLA for six years in the 1950s and was credited with first showcasing the “Laugh-In” team of Dan Rowan and Dick Martin. During the 1950s and ‘60s, Noble also appeared in several films, including “White Christmas” and “Country Girl.” Noble was musical conductor at Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe from 1955 until his retirement in 1965.
