PACOIMA : Mental Health Center to Relocate Soon
The Mission Hills Community Mental Health Center is moving to a larger office several blocks from its current location.
The center, which serves about 1,100 clients, will move from 11479 San Fernando Road in Pacoima to 15535 San Fernando Mission Road in Mission Hills.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved the relocation, said Joel Bellman, spokesman for Supervisor Ed Edelman.
The current 6,100-square-foot site is too small, said Herminia Casillas, the center’s supervisor.
“We were unable to provide all services all the time,” she said.
Lack of parking and privacy for workers to interview clients are also problems at the current site. The new site, a former medical center, is about twice as large as the current building. Los Angeles County Mental Health officials expect the center to make the move in 60 to 90 days.
