Pool Tournament to Aid Quake Victims
A pool tournament featuring more than 30 celebrities playing amateur players will take place March 19 to benefit South-Central victims of the Jan. 17 earthquake.
The tournament is sponsored by Children’s Aid International and will take place at the Hollywood Athletic Club, 6525 Sunset Blvd. Action will get under way at noon with general admission tickets beginning at $25.
Among the celebrities expected to attend are Laurence Fishburne, Sinbad, and members of the Los Angeles Raiders, California Angels and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Proceeds from the events, which will include an auction of celebrity-contributed items, will also benefit The Lord’s Kitchen feeding program.
