VENTURA : Kidnaping Reported by Woman Driver
A man forced his way into an Oxnard woman’s car while she was stopped at a Ventura intersection and made her to drive him to the San Fernando Valley, Ventura police said Sunday.
The 32-year-old woman told investigators that she was stopped at a traffic light at Wake Forest Avenue and Telegraph Road about noon Saturday when an unknown man opened her passenger-side door and sat next to her.
The suspect, whose description was not provided by police, then ordered the woman to drive south on the Ventura Freeway.
A police spokeswoman said the man told the woman to exit at Reseda Boulevard, then he jumped out of the car. At no time did he display a weapon, police said.
She then returned home and called police at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. The case is being investigated as a felony kidnaping.
