LA HABRA : Students Will Get Breakfast Choices
Starting next month, third- through eighth-grade students who buy breakfast at school in the La Habra City School District will be offered a choice of meals.
School board members decided last week week to allow students to choose a hot meal or cereal and to decline any foods they would not eat.
In doing so, district officials said, less food will be wasted.
“Some children are used to eating certain kinds of foods in the morning, so if they don’t like hot meals, they can have their choice of cold cereals or something else,” said Mary Jo Anderson, principal at Las Lomas Elementary School in La Habra.
