Share

A 70-year-old El Centro woman missing since Saturday was found Wednesday afternoon.

Eloisa Bermudiez Garrido, who walked away from her daughter’s parked car near the Glendale Galleria, apparently wandered to a home near the mall, where she stayed until Wednesday afternoon.

The family called police at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, saying they could not determine who the woman was or where she was from.

“I just wish they would have called us earlier,” Glendale police spokesman Lief Nicolaisen said.

Garrido, who suffers from diabetes and a heart condition, had wandered away from the parked car while her daughter, Mimi Garrido of Van Nuys, was shopping in the mall. She has been living with her daughter recently because of a series of doctors appointments, including cataract surgery last month.

Garrido was described by her daughter as a very outgoing person who would sit and talk with strangers for hours about her family.
