Neighbors in the quiet residential neighborhood said Friday they discovered the body and the bicycle about 9:30 p.m. the night before.

“He was on a bike and a guy drove by and shot at him,” said Hunter, of the Police Department’s gang detail. But Hunter said there was no evidence that the shooting was gang-related or that Pfeiffer was affiliated with any gang.

Early reports that a dog also had been shot to death proved untrue.
