LONG BEACH : Wife Gets 9 Years in Plot to Have Husband Killed

Share

A Long Beach minister’s wife was sentenced to nine years in state prison Monday for hiring a transient to kill her husband, who played dead at a bogus crime scene set up by police.

Perma Jean Pritchett, 33, was convicted Feb. 24, with her 20- year-old son, Jessie, of soliciting the murder of the Rev. Charles Pritchett.

The woman and her son were acquitted of single counts of conspiracy to murder the pastor. Superior Court Judge Richard Romero had sentenced Jessie to nine years in prison last Thursday. Romero rejected the defendants’ request for probation.
