KOCE-TV Channel 50, the public broadcasting station of Coast Community College District, on March 31 will begin airing “Challenge to America,” a four-part series that compares capitalism as it is practiced in the United States, Germany and Japan.

The series, which is new to KOCE, is hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Hedrick Smith, author of “The Power Game,” a description of the inner workings of Washington.

The program goes on location to the boardrooms, factories and classrooms of the three featured countries. The segments begin at 8 p.m. on consecutive Thursdays.
