Re “Regents’ Panel Insists UC Seek Way Out of Deal With Milken,” March 18:
The UC regents, believing that Michael Milken is evil incarnate, have kept a $3.3-million gift from him anyway? The regents need only to look in a mirror to see who compromised UCLA’s integrity. The hypocrisy of the regents’ actions suggest the problem is not with Milken, but with the embarrassment UCLA faces admitting that a university which markets itself as a premier business school cannot even negotiate a favorable business contract. These taped lectures are marketable only because Milken gave them. Five percent of something is a whole lot better than 5% of nothing.
