Rohr Admits Faking Tests: The defense contractor admitted faking quality tests for parts of the Navy’s F-14 Tomcat fighter and the Air Force’s C-5 transport. It agreed to pay a $3.6-million fine. Rohr agreed with Los Angeles prosecutors to plead guilty to eight counts of making false claims about the tests. U.S. District Judge Terry Hatter Jr. must concur with the deal. He set sentencing May 2. Four of the counts involved corrosion tests on metal parts for the C-5, and the others involved tests with adhesives on parts for the Navy’s F-14. The tests were supposed to have been run between 1987 and 1990 at the Rohr’s Riverside facility.
