P-51 Mustang Kills Cow, Calf in Chino
A World War II plane taking off from Chino Airport on Monday sputtered and crashed into a dairy corral, shearing off a row of eucalyptus trees and killing a cow and a calf before coming to rest in a heap of manure, authorities said.
A Chino Valley Fire Department spokesman said there were no human injuries in the crash of the P-51 Mustang other than a minor wound to the pride of the pilot, Bob Martin, 50, of Prescott, Ariz., who told paramedics he was “not too fond of landing in a pile of (manure).”
