Sheriff’s deputies in Thousand Oaks are investigating a late-night holdup outside a bank in which a restaurant manager was robbed of the night’s receipts, authorities said.
The holdup occurred outside the Bank of the Oaks on Moorpark Road about 11:30 p.m. Monday.
James Beeman, an assistant manager for a Round Table Pizza, was about to place several moneybags in the bank’s night deposit drawer when someone sneaked up behind him, deputies said.
The suspect then placed a hard object against his back and threatened to shoot, deputies said.
The suspect ran from the area after taking the bags, containing cash and checks.
Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and the filing of criminal charges.
Callers may remain anonymous. Anyone with information may call 494-TALK.
