The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has autopsied the body of a 15-year-old Thousand Oaks boy who collapsed and died on a school soccer field Monday, but results of the exam were inconclusive, an official said Wednesday.

Coroner’s officials are waiting to review old medical records and new test results on tissue samples from the autopsy of Giwook Lee before declaring the cause of his death, said Scott Carrier, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.

Lee, an eighth-grader at Colina Intermediate School in Thousand Oaks whom friends described as friendly and outgoing, had been playing soccer during the lunch hour Monday when he collapsed.

School employees performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Lee until paramedics arrived and took him to Westlake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.

Hospital officials said information from Lee’s family indicated that he suffered from a congenital heart problem.
