Richard Davies, 80, actor and singer in films of the 1940s such as “When Johnny Comes Marching Home.” After attending Chico State College and Brigham Young University, Davies worked as a salesman, bodyguard, service station attendant, model and radio actor before getting a contract with Universal Studios in 1941. He made his debut in Irene Dunne’s “Unfinished Business.” His other films included “Private Buckaroo” and “Give Out, Sisters” with the Andrews Sisters, “Eagle Squadron” with Robert Stack and “The Sky’s the Limit” with Fred Astaire. He appeared on television in the 1950s in such series as “The Ann Sothern Show” and made his last film, “Married Too Young,” in 1962. Davies later worked as a park ranger at the Weaverville Joss House Chinese Temple. On April 2 in Weaverville, Calif., of a heart attack.
