LA PALMA : 5 Are Recognized for Anti-Graffiti Efforts

Five people were recognized last week by the Police Department and the City Council for helping police arrest graffiti vandals.

Michael Vincenti of La Palma and David Cohen of Buena Park were recognized for calling police on Jan. 18 when they saw three juveniles spray-painting walls around a local carwash.

Police later discovered the same juveniles were responsible for a rash of graffiti incidents in La Palma.

“Clearly, the information we got from Vincenti and Cohen was instrumental in the apprehension and prosecution of these juveniles,” said Lt. Mike Fellers of the La Palma Police Department.

David Kindell of Garden Grove and Sean and Jennifer Laming of Buena Park were recognized for aiding police in catching three other graffiti vandals.

On March 11, Kindell and the Lamings called police after witnessing three youths marking up a light standard.

The three detained the suspects until police arrived.

Each group split a $50 graffiti award presented by La Palma Police Chief David Barr at last week’s City Council meeting.
