Behind The Scenes : California Spring Styles Blossom at Garden Show

Amid the tulips and topiaries, supporters of two charities attended a reception last Friday to launch the weekend’s Crystal Court Garden Show in Costa Mesa.
The Junior League of Orange County and New Directions for Women benefited from the garden show preview night.
Guests’ attire wasn’t as high-styled as that worn by those attending the colossal Chelsea Flower Show that opens the social season each spring in London, but the crowd of 300 did find ways to cultivate the Southern California spring look.
Women wore long, flowing skirts and cheerful, silk-flowered hats, while men, still wearing their stuffy office suits, ripped off their ties to create a hybrid look of relaxed professionalism.
