A Saugus man was arrested Friday on charges that he sexually molested three women more than two decades ago, according to authorities.

The charges against William Lynch, 64, were the result of 1992 therapy sessions during which one of his alleged victims recalled attacks on her and her friends.

Lynch was charged with twelve counts of lewd acts involving minors that allegedly occurred between March 1967 and July 1972, said Sandy Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’ office.

Lynch, who is being held on $600,000 bail, will be arraigned Monday in Los Angeles Municipal Court, Gibbons said.

Also named in the complaint was Lynch’s former girlfriend, Mildred Human Fleetwood, 60, who now lives in Florida. She was charged with eight counts of child molestation, but police do not have her in custody.

Gibbons declined to discuss the cases against Lynch and Fleetwood other than to say that her office felt there was sufficient evidence to charge the pair.

The alleged victim, who told authorities that memories of the attacks surfaced during therapy sessions, is now in her 30s and a California resident. She said she also remembered attacks on two others in her neighborhood, Gibbons said. These two other alleged victims now live in Tennessee and Kentucky.

A law enacted earlier this year made it possible to charge Lynch and Fleetwood for crimes they allegedly committed long after the statute of limitations ran out.
