Man Chasing Pet Bird Falls From Cliff, Dies

A man chasing his pet cockatoo plunged over a 40-foot cliff to his death. Anthony W. Piper, 31, had spent much of Thursday chasing his escaped pet and was trying to reach the bird with a net when he apparently lost his footing and fell, striking his head on a rock, a sheriff’s deputy said. The bird was not recovered.
