For Whom ‘Bell’ Tolls

Pink Floyd, performing in town this weekend, has the best-selling album, “The Division Bell,” in the nation and in Southern California--topping the Times’ pop chart. Since album sales are traditionally strong for weeks after one of these extravaganzas leaves town, this album could be the chart leader for the next few weeks. As you’d expect, in the wake of Kurt Cobain’s death, Nirvana’s albums are selling big again. “In Utero” returns to both the pop Top 20 (No. 19) and the hard-rock Top 10 (No. 4). “Nevermind” jumped back on the hard-rock chart at No. 8.
