Southwestern Bell Corp. May Join Cellular Venture: The company said it has been invited to join a consortium that will build a second cellular telephone system in Korea. The San Antonio-based regional phone company said it expects to share a 20.2% stake set aside for international companies in the digital cellular venture. The other major international participant will be AirTouch Communications Inc., formerly PacTel Corp., Southwestern Bell said, with Qualcomm Inc. and GTE Corp. holding smaller stakes. The international participants will learn their exact stakes at the end of the month, Southwestern Bell said. The company collaborated with the Kolon Group, a Korean industrial conglomerate, in its bid.
