Woman Escapes Attacker at Home
A 61-year-old Ojai woman narrowly escaped being raped in her home by fighting off a young attacker and running to a neighbor’s home, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
The woman suffered minor injuries during the struggle early Saturday morning and was treated at Ojai Community Hospital and released, officials said.
Investigators believe the assailant may be the same person who sexually assaulted a woman in her Meiners Oaks home in early March. The assailant is described as 5-foot-10, in his mid-20s with brown hair.
The department is asking that anyone with information about either incident contact Detective Maureen Hookstra or Detective Danny Thompson in the Sheriff’s Department.
