GARDEN GROVE : Volunteers Sought for Cleanup Effort

Share

About 300 volunteers are expected to turn out Saturday to help the city with graffiti removal and park cleanup.

The effort marks the city’s participation in the nationwide “Volunteer Connection Day.” The national effort focuses on urging people of all ages to do volunteer work for their communities.

Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the Garden Grove Municipal Services Center, 13802 Newhope St. “They will then get their assignments in various areas and go to those assignments to work until noon,” said Mike Adams, administrative analyst with the city’s Public Services Department.

The anticipated volunteers are from civic groups and youth organizations that have done volunteer work for the city, Adams said. He said, however, that any individual may help on Saturday.

Those wishing to help should call (714) 741-5375 before Saturday to get on the assignment list, Adams said.

The effort is also part of a countywide program coordinated by the Volunteer Center of Greater Orange County.
