HUNTINGTON BEACH : Council OKs Adding Work-Study Session

Share

The City Council has agreed to add a work-study session on the fourth Monday of each month to its schedule.

In a memo to the council, Deputy City Administrator Richard Barnard recommended the change.

“The City Council agenda items have become more complex, and the amount of time needed by the City Council to deliberate on agenda items has expanded,” Barnard said. “At the work session, the City Council can spend time studying the details of projects or issues and provide direction to staff.”

The council voted 5 to 2 to add the new meeting.

Officials said the work-study sessions are not designed for taking votes or holding public hearings. Instead, the meetings will be devoted to discussion between council members and city staff, the officials said.
