Rams Expect to Sign 10 Rookie Free Agents Today

Share

Washington defensive lineman D’Marco Farr, Miami defensive lineman Kevin Patrick and Purdue wide receiver Jermaine Ross are among 10 rookie free agents expected to sign with the Rams today, said Jay Zygmunt, Rams’ senior vice president.

Also expected to sign are Notre Dame quarterback Kevin McDougal and New Mexico wide receiver Turhon O’Bannon, who came to terms with the team Tuesday.

O’Bannon, the half-brother of UCLA basketball stars Ed and Charles O’Bannon, had 47 catches last season and scored seven touchdowns.

McDougal has said he will play in the Canadian Football League if he cannot catch on in the NFL. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers own the rights to McDougal and Florida State quarterback Charlie Ward, who is considering pro basketball.

“Maybe Charlie and I didn’t do enough to prove ourselves,” McDougal told the Associated Press Wednesday. “All we did was take our teams to No. 1 and No. 2 in the country.”

Linebacker Joe Kelly, whom the Raiders cut last week, worked out Wednesday for the Rams.
