Street Closing
With regard to the closing of Poli Street, the series of useless, ill-considered, knee-jerk reactions by most of the Ventura City Council continues to be sadly amusing to those of us who choose to live in the area.
One thing does become quite obvious, though. These servants of ours haven’t visited the neighborhood in ages. If they had, they would know that speed bumps aren’t needed. Sunset Drive, especially between Foster and Hyland (avenues), is so rutted, ridged and pot-holed that any speed over 15 m.p.h. is already suspension-busting. Who needs speed bumps?
At least the council no longer insists that any of this has anything to do with the year-old tragedy that initiated the string of inappropriate decisions in the first place.
