Hollywood Park Given Simulcast OK; 17 Races to Be on Derby Day Card

Share

Governor Pete Wilson signed into law Tuesday a bill that allows Hollywood Park to simulcast five additional stakes races from Churchill Downs on Saturday. The races will join the 120th running of the Kentucky Derby, which was already scheduled to be simulcast from Louisville.

The additional races will make for a 17-race card starting with the $75,000 American Turf from Churchill Downs at 10 a.m. It will be followed by three other stakes from Louisville. The first live race at Hollywood Park will be at 1 p.m., followed by another simulcast from Churchill Downs between the first and second live races.

The Kentucky Derby will be simulcast between the third and fourth live races at about 2:30 p.m. There will also be two races simulcast from Golden Gate Fields.
