The accident occurred about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when the driver of a four-door gold Chevrolet Caprice traveling north on Woodley Avenue near Vanowen Steet in Van Nuys rear-ended the car carrying the eight occupants and sped away.

The car with eight occupants crashed into the car in front of it. That car also left the scene.

Police had no suspects late Thursday.
