Three teen-age boys have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 21-year-old man last week, police said Friday.

Fred Leglar was shot to death about 8 p.m. April 27 in front of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Palm Avenue near an elementary school. Witnesses said they saw the victim and another man be chased, then fired at, by a group of males who then ran from the scene. The victim ran to his girlfriend’s apartment in that complex, where he collapsed and died. Ruben Flores, 19, was wounded in the attack and was found lying in the street. He had been shot in the torso but is expected to survive.

Police released few details about the arrests on Friday. Anaheim Police Lt. Vince Howard said an investigation is continuing. He did not discuss a motive and would not say whether more arrests are expected.

“There’s been a lot of hard work to solve this case,” Howard said. “There have been guys working on this round the clock.”

The suspects’ names were not released because they are minors, but Howard said they are members of a local gang.
