Some people were sure Madonna’s career would suffer after her X-rated appearance on David Letterman’s TV show. Obviously these people don’t buy her records--but others still do. Her single “I’ll Remember” is No. 2 on The Times’ Southern California pop singles chart and No. 6 nationally. Reba McEntire dominates the country chart with two albums--her new one, “Read My Mind,” which debuted at No. 1, and “Greatest Hits Vol. 2.” (No. 6). The new top pop single in this region is “Regulate,” by Warren G. and Nate Dogg, which vaulted up from No. 11.
