Computer City Move: The Computer City store that opened in Garden Grove nearly five years ago has been “relocated to an existing, two-story location in Santa Ana” near South Coast Plaza, Computer City President Alan Bush said.

Customers who need technical service for products purchased at the Garden Grove store are being directed to the chain’s Brea store. Bush tied the relocation to the fact that “there was tremendous customer overlap between the two stores.”

All but two of Computer City’s Garden Grove employees have taken jobs at other company locations, Bush said, and the chain mailed out 85,000 notices to alert customers to the change.

“It’s not like we’re moving out of town,” Bush said. “To the contrary, we’re planning to open our sixth and seventh stores (in Southern California) very soon.”
