Powell Powers the Titans to 10-2 Victory Over UCLA
Dante Powell’s offense again led the Cal State Fullerton baseball team as the Titans beat UCLA, 10-2, Wednesday at Titan Field.
Powell was three for five, including a two-run homer in the seventh inning. He also had four runs batted in, a double and two scored runs.
Adam Millan and Jim Betzsold both had doubles for the Titans.
Winning pitcher Mike Parisi (10-3) went five innings, striking out five, before Derek Fahs came on in relief.
Coming off Tuesday’s loss to Fresno State, Fullerton scored four runs in the first inning. The Titans, ranked second in nation, improved to 40-11.
The Bruins’ scoring came on Brett Schafer’s home run in the sixth inning and David Roberts’ RBI single in the seventh. UCLA is 17-35.
