Chavez Victory Has Readers Fighting Mad
For all of you who think Julio Cesar Chavez is a great fighter, I’ll let you in on a little secret: He got whipped by Pernell Whitaker, and was twice soundly beaten by Frankie Randall. The only reason Chavez is still champion is because of Don King’s money. He has bought Chavez the title.

Dr. Flip Homansky’s lack of ring savvy wreaked havoc on boxing on May 7. It’s bad enough championship fights don’t go 15 rounds. Now Homansky’s ruling in the Julio Cesar Chavez-Frankie Randall fight strikes a low blow at what little integrity boxing has left.
Ringside’s Dr. Death stopped the fight in the eighth round with three seconds left. He stopped the fight because Chavez said he didn’t want to continue. Incredible. Of course, Don King loved it. His hair sizzled. Another grudge match. Another payday.
