Simi Support of CLAS is Admirable
After the disgraceful negative publicity of the Rodney King verdicts and our curse of hosting the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Simi Valley finally has something to be proud of.
Amid the rash of lies, misinformation and attempts to stir up hysteria by religious extremists across the state, our Simi Valley Unified School District board unanimously spoke out in support of the CLAS exams. While the board stressed that the exam is far from perfect, it seems to be the only school board in the state, thus far, to unite and speak out in favor of the exam.
CLAS supports an education system which, among other things, encourages students to think and have opinions and to write about them. Only those who wish to keep our students from thinking and having opinions are opposed to the exam.
