San Gabriel Valley Cover Story : 3 Pasadena Groups Honored
Three Pasadena neighborhood associations won awards during last weekend’s Neighborhoods USA Conference.
Pasadena’s Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood Assn. took top honors in the physical needs category for restoring its neighborhood park. Members of the association eliminated drug and gang activity at McDonald Park, where children now can play safely.
The Navarro Avenue-Tremont Howard Assn. placed second in the social needs category for its public safety project. The association encourages youth to participate in the community and promotes friendship and civic pride among residents.
The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Assn. earned an honorable mention for its park and neighborhood safety program. The association’s goal is to preserve and develop the safety of Jefferson Park and the surrounding neighborhood and to enhance the aesthetic and recreational value of the park.
