Terry Mayo Sullivan; News Anchorwoman
Terry Mayo Sullivan, one of Los Angeles’ first television news reporters and anchorwomen, has died at her Port Hueneme home after a long bout with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). She was 51.
Mrs. Sullivan, who began her television career at the financial news station KWHY, died Thursday. She joined KTTV as a reporter in 1971 and later became a weekend anchor and anchored the station’s weekday newscast at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Sullivan and her husband established a foundation to help meet communications needs of the severely disabled.
She is survived by her husband, Kerrin Sullivan, and a son, Christopher.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, at the Old North Church.
