Golden West College’s Symphonic Band will present an outdoor concert at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the community college’s amphitheater near Gothard and Center streets. Admission and parking are free, and the event is open to the public.
Under the baton of conductor Tom Hernandez, the band will perform Broadway hits, movie themes, patriotic marches and selections from Disney’s “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast,” said Lori Thomas, a spokeswoman for the college.
Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner, Thomas added. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Thomas said the college’s parking lot on Gothard Street “provides easy access to the Golden West College Amphitheater.” The outdoor theater is in a bowl-shaped area, surrounded by trees and shrubs.
