Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Sheriff’s Station Hit by Tagger

Share

A brazen tagger sprayed graffiti early Monday on an unlikely target--the Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Station--and escaped detection by deputies working there.

Sgt. Bob Denham said it was the first time in recent memory that a tagger had blemished the Lancaster station at 1010 W. Ave. J. He said it was not surprising that the vandal was not seen because the damage occurred on the south side of the building, adjacent to a parking lot.

“It’s an obscure location, with a lot of shrubs there,” Denham said. “It was just a blank wall.”

The vandalism, in which a gang nickname was sprayed in blue paint on a four-by-six-foot section of wall, apparently occurred before 1:40 a.m.

City crews painted over the damage.
