Where Are They Now? : RON FAIRLY

One of the original Los Angeles Dodgers, the first baseman and outfielder appeared in four World Series with the club before being traded to the Montreal Expos in 1969. The left-hander spent another decade in the majors, ending his 21-year career in 1978 with the Angels. He hit 215 home runs and had a .266 career batting average.

Fairly worked as a sportscaster for Channel 5 before joining the Angels’ broadcasting team in 1982. He moved to the Giants’ broadcast booth in 1987 and began doing commentary for the Seattle Mariners last year. Now 55, he spends the off-season at his Westlake Village home and works with children who have learning disabilities.
