Oxnard police arrested a 20-year-old Southgate man after he led officers on a high-speed chase in a stolen car through the streets of Oxnard and crashed, injuring himself and his 15-year-old passenger, authorities said.

Manuel Jimenez, who suffered a broken collarbone, was being held at Ventura County Jail on Friday. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, drunken driving, evading a police officer and causing serious injuries.

Police said Jimenez was seen driving about 11:50 p.m. Thursday on Erica Place near H Street without his headlights on. When officers tried to pull him over, Jimenez took off southbound on H Street, speeding in excess of 125 m.p.h., said Senior Traffic Officer Don Mulville.
