Tanya Tucker, the Marshall Tucker Band, two country groups and those old favorites the Temptations are among the entertainers scheduled to perform at this year’s Ventura County Fair, which runs Aug. 17 to 28.

Country music singers Hal Ketchum and Carlene Carter will kick off festivities, the first of 17 performances at the 19-day event.

Ketchum debuted on the country music scene in 1991 with his album “Past the Point of Rescue” and this year released the album “Every Little Word.” Carter, the daughter of country music star June Carter Cash and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash, earned a Grammy nomination in 1990 for her first solo country album, “I Fell in Love.” She released her latest album, “Little Love Letters,” in 1993.
