Lake Perris Delivers Surprising Big Fish

Lakes Castaic and Casitas in Los Angeles and Ventura County, respectively, are still producing most of the bass weighing more than 10 pounds.

But out in the sweltering heat of Riverside County, Lake Perris has been yielding a surprising number of big fish. For the second consecutive week, bass of 10 pounds or better have been caught, topped by a 13-pound 14-ounce lunker taken from Lake Perris on a plastic worm by Robert Pickell of Midway City.
