Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Acton Man Says He Forgot Baby Was in Hot Car

Share

An Acton man, charged by authorities with child endangerment, said he forgot his infant son was in a car parked in a shadeless lot with the windows rolled up Wednesday near noon.

Sheriff’s deputies, notified by passersby that the baby was in the overheated car, forced open the door and rescued the 9-month-old boy, who was distraught but seemingly unharmed.

The baby’s father, William Lynch, 27, told sheriff’s deputies he simply did not remember his child was in the car when he went to do some shopping at Costco in Lancaster. Lynch was arrested and later released on $50,000 bond.
