PATRIOTIC SERVICE: A three-screen audiovisual presentation accompanied by music from Aaron Copeland’s “Lincoln Portrait” will be featured during a Fourth of July weekend service 10 a.m. Sunday at Kirk O’ the Valley Presbyterian Church, 19620 Vanowen St., Reseda.

In addition to the audiovisual program produced by Wil Brydon, the church’s choir will perform arrangements of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “America the Beautiful” augmented by piccolo and drum.

FOURTH OF JULY: U.S. Rep. Howard (Buck) McKeon (R-Santa Clarita) will speak at a Mormon Church-sponsored flag-raising ceremony at 8 a.m. Monday at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, 23287 Sierra Highway, in Newhall.

A special interfaith choir will perform music composed for the program, intended as the first annual event, according to Barbara C. Myler, regional director of public affairs for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Admission is free and open to the public.

LAWN CONCERT: A “Concert on the Green” featuring Christian music will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the lawn of First Baptist Church of Canoga Park, 20553 Sherman Way.

Church organizers said that those who attend should bring blankets or chairs and are welcome to bring picnic suppers. “No liquor please,” added a church spokesman.

GOSPEL CONCERT: The four-member John Guyton Ensemble, a widely traveled singing group based in San Jose, will perform contemporary and traditional gospel music in a concert starting at 6 p.m. Sunday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 19788 Rinaldi St., Porter Ranch.
